 पोलादी पडद्यामागे “तर राष्ट्रप्रमुख आणि कम्युनिस्ट पक्षाचे सरचिटणीस  मिखाईल गोर्बाचेव्ह यांचे  सरकारी निवासस्थान कुठे आहे ?  मॉस्कोच्या  भेटीवर असणाऱ्या  आम्हा  भारतीय पत्रकारांच्या तुकडीतील एका सदस्याने विचारले.  तो प्रश्‍न तसा अगदी साधासुधा होता. दिवसभराच्या  आमच्या  मॉस्को दर्शन सहलीमध्ये आमच्या टिमच्या गाईड आणि अनुवादक असलेल्या युवतीने आम्हाला सोव्हिएत युनियनच्या राजधानीतील अनेक ऐतिहासिक, प्रेक्षणिय  आणि पर्यटन स्थळांकडे नेले होते. त्यादिवशी मॉस्को शहरात उणे बारा तापमान होते. त्या कडकडीत थंडीत आम्ही मॉस्को शहरात हिंडत होतो. मॉस्कोतील तो ऐतिहासिक भव्य रेड स्केअर किंवा लाल चौक, ब्लादिमीर लेनिनचे थ्री-पीस सूटमधले शव प्रदर्शनास ठेवले होते ते लेनिन मुसोलियम खरेच पाहण्यासारखे होते. त्यामुळे मिखाईल गोर्बाचेव्ह या  सर्वोच्च रशियन नेत्याच्या  निवासस्थानासंबंधी प्रश्‍न विचारण्यास  मला स्वतःला वा आमच्या तुकडीतील एकाही पत्रकाराला काहीच वावगे दिसले नाही. असे असूनही तो प्रश्‍न कानावर पडताच टुरिस्ट गाईडचे काम करणारी ती रशियन यु...
