Pune: 'Theatre group 001' will stage a German play  'Fluchpunkte'  based on the theme of refugees and displaced  persons at Jyotsna Bhole hall here at 7 pm on Friday, March 3. Teachers and students of German language in the city have enacted in the play. The play is open to all. The duration is 1 hour 15 minutes.

The play is conceptualised and directed by Manjiri Paranjape. The premier of the play was performed in an International Conference on “Migration: Politics and Poetics” in the last week of February in Pune and was very much appreciated by the experts from India and Germany.

The problem of migrants in Europe and especially in Germany has become right now of prime importance. Many people from various countries have been uprooted and have to leave their native place, their country and move to Europe. This phenomenon is influencing the day-today life, Economy, Education, Culture and Literature in Germany.

Theatre group 001 has put up the  play “Fluchtpunkte”, which showcases various aspects of the migrants, of being uprooted, of running away from one’s own country, of running away from oneself, from responsibilities and life and finally the relation between Escaping and Being.

The play is a collage of German texts – poems, prose texts and abstracts from theatre plays – written by Franz Kafka, Bertolt Brecht, Rilke and migrant authors.
